We went on another journey to find out about joint Polish-Scottish heritage on the 25th of February 2017 which led us to the National Aviation Museum and where we saw unique exhibits of civil and military aviation. Of particular interest was the Concord supersonic airliner. We were then shown the principles of aerodynamics on interactive models and tried to perform basic pilot tests whilst also learning about the next stages in aviation development. We found traces of Polish history in the air force hangar when we saw a ‘Spitfire’ fighter plane. Such planes, and others like the Hurricanes, were flown by Polish airmen during the Second World War in the Battle of Britain. It was thus an interesting history lesson combined with having great fun.
