Another group of children and teenager classes went to the National Portrait Gallery on the 26th of November and the 2nd of December 2016, seeking Polish-Scottish connections of national heritage. There they learnt about the turbulent fate of Princess Maria Clementine Sobieska and her children, from which they painted collages-portraits in the style of people living in the 18th century, where the current fashion from those times and symbolism of portraits were to portray royal families. These collages were based on an exceptionally beautiful portrait of Maria Clementine, granddaughter of King Jan III Sobieski, and her son the romantic hero, Charles Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie), painted then as a young boy. Such classes were organised and conducted by Ola Wojtkiewicz; an art historian and senior curator of the 16th and 17th century collection at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh.
